本會發起成立於民國卅六年八月十二日，迄今已屆滿七十年，當年發起籌組時，計有駕駛員、會務、 印刷、鑲牙齒模、人力三輪車、革履、電影戲劇等七個工會參與發起，男女會員人數約為二千餘人，正式報請主管機關立案則為同年十月廿四日
