急公好義坊 - Zhongzheng District

The characters on the memorial archway can't be read clearly, and there is no explanation card beside it. There is only a temple with a shed next to it, which seems to be an undervalued attraction in the park.

Well-maintained monuments

Originally located on Shifang Street near Ximending, it was demolished and rebuilt at the current site by the Governor ’s Mansion of Taiwan in 1905.

"Ji Gong Hao Yi Fang" is a third-level monument located on the south side of the February 28th Memorial Park. In the thirteenth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1887), Gongsheng Hong Tengyun, Tamsui County, Taipei Prefecture, due to the construction of the examination shed in Taipei City, donated fields and silver for his merits. In the fourteenth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1888), Fang Cheng, the prefect Lei Qida, the professor Feng Mengxin, the county magistrate Wang Xingqi, and the teaching instruction Jiang Xueying, etc., commended his merits. The square was originally located on today's Hengyang Road, so its place was called Shifang Street. It was demolished at the current site in the 228 Park when the Japanese ruled Taiwan. The square is a four-pillar three-room style, complete in shape and exquisitely carved. It is the most typical Qing Dynasty stone workshop in Taipei. Although some parts were lost, the archway is still very commemorative, and donated the land to cover the examination center for the students, which was appreciated by the emperor.
