★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Authentic Hakka dishes. It’s a popular place so don’t be surprised if needed wait to be seated. Also might be sharing a large table with strangers. It’s a part of the dining in Asia experience. This is THE restaurant that I will think of from time to time when I miss home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really delicious hakka food. Incredibly filling as well. It's quite rare that I can find this type of taste in the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This small gem of a restaurant is hidden away in a small street in Taipei City, Guting ( 中正區古亭). Less than 5 minutes walk from Guting MRT Station #9 exit. It's a Hakka (客家菜) cuisine restaurant, and the dishes (enjoy the photos) really brought back many warm memories of my family. After meal, we enjoyed traditional Hakka style tea and desserts. The restaurant is in a one level building that's approximately 80-100 year old. I recommended for couples, or group of 8 to go and enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner here, even if you're not Hakka 客家人.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You may miss it when walking by, try asking the locals or use google maps. This is a quaint place with fantastic foods served. If you don't know what to go for, simply go for the set meals available and you can be rest assured to have both a satisfied belly and happy memories from the meal. They serve very good hakka dishes such as lei cha, stir fried lotus buds, trotters and many more. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small no-frills restaurant that specializes in traditional (Taiwanese?) Hakka cuisine. It's hidden away in a small street and the sign is small enough to miss if you don't look out for it.
The restaurant is small when you walk in but there is another room with additional seating when you walk further in. The architecture is very traditional and the kitchen looks old enough to match the decor. We didn't order that much but what we got was ok. It wasn't spectacular but it's what you would expect from a place this small and for the price, the food is not bad.
The only negative points were, the not-so-welcoming service and the really dirty toilet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never disappointed when eating here. Although the food is greasy by default, it's full of flavor and extremely well prepared. The restaurant has a very charming, homey atmosphere. Service is attentive and friendly. This time we tried the ostrich which is a little chewy by nature but if you've never tried it, this would be a good place to start. The mushrooms with the salted eggs were on point taste and texture wise and the tofu was outstanding, would order both dishes again in an instant. Try their 擂茶 Lei Cha, a type of mashed tea rich in protein and fiber. While not too pricey, the menu is a bit on the expensive side, otherwise I'd definitely dine here more often!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our Taiwanese friends took us to this place a while ago and I still remember how good all the food here was! Honestly I don’t know any of the dish names because we let our Taiwanese friends order these goodies but I enjoyed the authentic food and atmosphere a lot. And we were a group of 7 people so we got to taste a little bit of everything and that was nice too. I can’t wait to go back here.
