Food is great and the staff who work here all friendly. It's a nice place to stay.

The taste is just okay, too shallow, could be improved by adding more depth to the broth

The soup broth is really good. I personally enjoyed my dinner, the pig intestine is well marinated and chewy.

The noodle mixes the traditional flavors of Chongqing spicy noodle and the Taiwanese luwei. Seems spicy at first glance, but I can still finish the noodle. The place is small, seats are narrow, and still crowded at 10:00pm. Must be a popular store for the students.

There are 5 levels of spicy you can choose from 1 (mild) to 5 (very spicy). I chose level 4, it's not that bad but beware of the mala! They use mala so the spicy is very heat in your tongue. I even thought my tongue was stinging even I couldn't finish the soup at all. The place is clean and there's an English menu as well.

Second time here, and still good! If you are craving Sichuan spicy, you should go there! even the smallest amount of spice was too spicy for me,be aware! Loved the brisket noodle, delicious! The special one with the rice noodle is great too! If you are quite hungry, you can take some "luwei" on the side.

this place is a hidden gem in gonguan. they have deliciously spicy noodle with a lot of customization options. if you're a spice lover, this place is for you. many local taiwanese considers this the most authentic "sour spicy rice noodles" you can find in taipei. the origin of this food is from chongqing, china. from my experience, it's hard to find a top tier restaurant that offers this dish like Malaba. pro-tip bring your own drink/water ahead of times. get a lot of napkins. you will need it. expect to pay around $150-300 per person. worth every dollar! EDIT: originally mistaken the origin as hong kong, updated to chongqing. a municipality in china.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for another in the area and am extremely glad I did. Got the Pork Chop Noodle/排骨麵 ($150NT) and the Beef Noodle Soup/牛肉麵 ($150NT). The bowls have varying spicy levels from mild/小辣 to extra spicy/大辣. Went with the mild level since I didn't want to regret my decision later. The beef noodle soup had thick cut noodles and a flavorful soup base but the pork chop noodle blew me away. The meat fell off the bone and was amazingly tender while the soup reminded me of my mom's home cooking. They also have assorted braised items/滷味 available. Will definitely come back for more pork chop noodle soup.
