A monument commemorates a historic site

Mingdao Academy Site Mingdao Academy was founded in the fifth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1877). It was originally the official platform (the place where the officials were stationed when they visited). Since the thirteenth year of Guangxu, it has been the Yamen of Danshui County. In the 19th year of Guangxu (1893), the county government moved to the new site of the release pool on Beimen Street, and the governor Shao Youlian was first changed to Mingdao Academy, which was directly governed by the governor. Zhang Zanzhong, who had retired from the Taiwanese Confucianism instructor, was appointed as the head of the mountain. More than fifty scholars have been enrolled in him for a while. In the twenty-first year of Guangxu (1895), the Japanese army invaded Taiwan, teachers and students were scattered, the books and lessons were gone, and it was a real catastrophe. It was demolished in the first eight years of the Republic of China (1904), and the old site is in the backyard of the hospital attached to the present National Taiwan University, which is about 50 meters west of the monument (the Children's Medical Building of National Taiwan University Hospital).
