This is my favourite museum so far! Because I LOVE railway and this museum is full of every little knowledge about the history of Taiwan's railway system. The exhibition and display were really cool! I spent almost three hours wandering in it and had to leave because they were closing soon. And the ticket was really cheap! You can also buy the ticket with ez card

The location is easy to reach, there are many impressive and modern ways of displays introducing the history of Taiwan railways, children friendly with the parent-child area. An interesting museum, it’s over my expectation!!

Fantastic museum, beautiful building and very informative covering the history of railways in Taiwan, examples of engines, tunnels, bridge building, signalling systems - well laid out and excellent displays. Also has, a gigantic model train set of Taipei with regular showtimes which is great. Highly recommended. They did a fantastic job here, well done Taiwan National Museum ?

It's not a bad place to visit on a random occasion. Yet, there are some issues with the exhibition that could be improved, for example, it seems uneasy to orient oneself around the museum, somehow the exhibition starts on the right side yet you go from one room to another and then you have to switch sides to continue, or the whole section is divided by another (c1-1, c1-2, D, c2). Even though there are posters telling you which room is what - the system itself is confusing. Another example is the bilingual approach to the exhibition, some parts are only in Chinese and it becomes hard to follow the timeline of events. Some items are misrepresented and not explained, like the "double-track block instrument" - nowhere around it it explains what the hell is a "double-track block instrument" and we had to Google it to figure out. In the age of Tiktok and Instagram you'd be thinking how to make museums (with such a boring topic like trains) appealing to the young generation. Maybe making it more interactive could make it even better. There isn't even a model train you can ride in a train museum, come on! Showmanship is important not just for education but for the profits. Nonetheless, the staff is very kind and helpful, I wish more museums' staff was like the people working here: kind, attentive, bilingual and supportive. I personally have seen a staff member giving a tour to a mother with a naughty kid who would just do whatever he felt like with mother being an absolute stranger and that man was patient like his life depended on it. Just wow! Thanks for the experience! Would I recommend it to friends? Not so sure, maybe to those who find the topic appealing. But it's a good way to spend 1,5 hour if you don't know what else to do.

The building itself is already very attractive, inside the museum is more overwhelming. The exhibition rooms shows the history of railway of Taiwan and the district of this building, also some special exhibition about COVID and the history of infectious disease. Can spend half day there for sure. Very convenient location, near MRT and train station.

I really liked this museum. There was a lot to see but the map was a little confusing or maybe it was just me. I liked that they had an English version though. Looking at the history of Taiwan's railway system was cool. It's a nice and visually exciting museum that offers visitors a chance to learn.

These represents the transformation of transportation from one place to another. They also presented the different models of trains then and now, the locations, the functions, and even the dining sets of those times. Those miniatures replicas of trains really amazed me. For only $100 entrance fee, you will be able to explore on how these trains evolved. Recommended to visit by the whole family.
