Tang yuan is a Taiwanese traditional food, sticky rice skin wrapping different fillings. This shop sells hakka style, savory flavor tang yuan. The meat-ball-like filling is quite salty and flavorful. Some reviews say the filling is too salty, but for me, the thick/soft sticky rice skin balance the saltiness. Overall speaking, it's a shop that I'll visit once in a while.

[ Juicy Pork inside ] They offer juicy rice dumplings. If you like xiaolunbao, then you should like this as well. A rather comfy food in cold winter. The size is bigger than most counterparts in Taipei. Just a bite is an indulgence for me? In addition, the noodles and side dishes are good. I myself like the preserved egg tofu especially. A great place to try several local delicious food. ???

Fantastic and highly recommended restaurant you should check it out It didn’t come to my mind to take many photos because I was too busy finishing my meal. The restaurant is Hakka style and provides a variety of dishes. We ordered Tangyuan (Glutinous Rice Balls) which I’ve never expect served with noodle soup. The stuffing made of grounded pork, dried scallion, dried small shrimps, etc. And the skin of rice ball is very thin and I must say it’s a perfect combination. We also order dumpling soup, nevertheless, it taste very good. Steamed sandwich (Kuah-pau) was one dish I like. The ingredients contain a chunk of stew pork which is very tender and it’s not too lean or fat with a good balance, comes with peanut power, icing sugar, and cilantro to add a little flavors. Had a fantastic meal! Be sure to get the tofu with the thousand year egg. Also the wonton and the chicken is super good. I personally thought the white ball soup is just so so.

Not an expert on this cusine, but I thought the soup rice balls stuffed with meat was so so. Yes, they were quite large, and $55 for four was really inexpensive. But the meat tasted heavily marinated with soy sauce and other spices, couldn't really taste it's natural flavors. The skin made with aged rice was kind of mushy, I think over cooked. The noodles and side salad was average.

You have to order the meat rice balls - Michelin Bib Gourmand. So tasty - the mochi was really soft and chewy, with a delicious soupy feeling with the meat. 55 nt for 4 large rice balls. Would def come here again! Edit: Been here 3 times now in 4 months! Still love it as much.
