★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Putting this at 4. Definitely need some understanding of how local "not catering to foreign tourists" restaurants work to not feel overwhelmed, but if you are adventurous it will be fun. Soups were very tasty and you could tell they had been cooking broth for a very long time to get the best flavor. Size of dishes may be a bit smaller then you get elsewhere, but taste was amazing Value a little bit low and only reason I dropped it a tiny bit.

The meat and tendon are just normal, nothing to shout about.
The main problem is the price. A small bowl of beef noodles cost $190, and the portion is really small. I can easily finish 2 bowls for a meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was one of my favor cuisines, but the famous beef soup just stay on my memory since several years ago. Now, material is still fresh and well cook, but you could only taste the sweet ‘cause might using MSG.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ok restaurant to eat. First time be here. I ordered beef soup. Ask for 140ntd. Expensive, portion small but tasty. I don't like the source. It was too salty. Some other guys seems be here many times. They just ordered soup without beef with other dish like noodles or stir fry beef. I will try that next time. Overall, it's a tasty restaurant but not have good CP value.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my 3rd time visiting with colleagues during lunch time. The first couple of times I didn't feel they were all that. This time I had the original beef noodle soup again and couple of sides, and I came back to revise my review to 5 stars. This is a historic place apparently and they supposed to serve the beef freshly butchered every morning, not previously frozen. Hence they don't braised the meat into soy sauce or other sauced based broth to emphasize that you can taste the freshness of the beef from their clear broth. It was good for me this time and I totally enjoyed it. However, the portion was small, perhaps too small. It was not enough for me without the sides. So if you are hungry just for the noodle soup, you might want to get two bowls instead. Go give them a try and enjoy.
