喜歡戶外，又有點文青的人。 跟大部分介紹植物的書籍用照片不同，作者用的插畫來幫助讀者辨識植物，插畫因為透過近距離觀察植物，所以細節描畫的非常清楚。 而且沒有照片裡繁複的背景跟其他植物，畢竟野外植物都不是獨自一顆生長著。
介紹的內容又歷史人物的故事，人的對話跟時空當下的描寫，包括洋人的故事以及原住民，和日本人、台灣人的對話，引人入勝。
描寫氣香味的段落，有清楚的描述、對照，跟有趣的事件，讓人感受到原來文字也能有沈浸式體驗。
