Best Cafe in Taiwan

M	Mr.MaximusPrime on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the most genuine cafe bar in all of Taipei. Not once had a conversation there that didn't change my life. Fantastic Irish Coffee, Affogato, and a Belgium Beer selection ranging from Chimay, Kwak, La Chouffe, Maredsous, and Westmalle. Jazz selections from the gloomy din of Chet Baker, urban cityscapes of Miles Davis, and soulful rips of Sonny Davis among others. A literary cafe to delight next to the bookatore capital of Chinese East Asia (non-censored).

I guess for a coffee with a friend it's ok but there are other places that are better. It's open u til 1 which is rare in super early Taipei

But actually I just worked there less than two week. From a ex- employee view, it’s a terrible store, dirty and bad service, just don’t come.
施	施素珊 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been a big fan of this place for maybe 10 years, but it's finally crossed the line from "funky little jazz cafe" to "decrepit dump". Sadly, the building is just falling apart, top to bottom. Furniture is filthy, walls, ceiling, floors are literally rotting, and walking in you now notice more moldy refrigerator smell than coffee aroma. Coffee is good as always, food menu is mediocre as always, apparently run by the same (friendly) family as always, but the lack of maintenance can't be ignored anymore. Can't recommend it. Hope they close for a while and remodel, as well as revamp the menu.
T	Tim Peterson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Expensive cheap food and drinks. You come here for the stellar vibe which ranges from a dark and cozy to a loud and vibrant feel depending on the time of day. I love the atmosphere for studying or reading, but I can’t get over the prices and some parts of the floor seem like they are about to fail at any moment. Still a great place to bring a friend for a chat if you’ve got the money to throw around but not somewhere to go every single day.

I was so surprised so I asked the shop owner why the house special blend coffee was with milk and sugar and tasted like 3-in-1? She just replied it's how they make it and said it uses same coffee beans like the americano my friend ordered. Are you kidding me? I pay NTD120 for house special when the americano only costs NTD100 just because you "helped" to "blend" in the sugar and milk that I don't need? And come on, even Starbucks gives milk and sugar without extra charge. I tried my friend's americano and I can guarantee you it's not the same coffee beans used in the so called "house special blend". I can tolerate the rundown place, but zero tolerance to the poor quality 3-in-1 in a cafe that claims themselves offer boutique coffee beans.
T	Teng Yin Chang on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great vibe and fresh look after the relocation. Great drip coffee offered, lots of choices to choose from. The shop also offers good quality in-house roasted coffee beans at reasonable prices. The biggest surprise of all is menu, from beverages that you get from tea shop such as bubble tea and smoothies to the variety of snacks, desserts, beef stew rice sets and even imported beer! Relaxing atmosphere with great music with food and drinks at affordable prices. This is the place to go if you love to spend an afternoon or your evenings in a coffee shop.
