★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cheap for large amounts of food. Plenty of options and variety. Free drinks. Expecting more will probably leave you disappointed, but this place isn't bad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is really great. The management are super friendly and kind, the steak is tasty and cheap, and the pastry-topped soup is a great touch. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Standard Taiwanese night market "steak." Lots of these places. You wonder if you're eating assembled "frankensteak" (probably) or horse (less probable). This place is slightly better than most. Good place to go for protein when you don't particularly care about the origin of said protein.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I felt like noodles - we ended up at this place which came with noodles under the meat.
I'm Aussie so went for the most expensive New Zealand filet steak assuming it should be the best. And got 'pastry soup' not knowing what the hell that was.
The 'pastry soup' came as a puff-pasty dome hanging over the edges of the ramekin - knowing it was the sweetish margarinish tasting stuff I don't like I found it disgusting, but finally dug a spoon sized hole to the soup, which at first tasted like flour only until I found some corn niblets in there - OK I guess.
The steak on a sizzling plate came on top of a pile of thick noodles which were fine - swimming in gravy which was just too much. Oh - and I finally worked out that the yellow white area on the right was a fried egg (with broken yolk - it took me a while).
I worried that the steak lacked any scorch marks - hard to enjoy a steak without the Maillard reaction - then cutting into it was significant gristle - not the sign of decent filet steak. Lacked any memorable flavour - I worked hard on the pepper grinder trying to get something happening but not really.
I was later told this kinda meal is called 'night market steak' - a lump of beef on top of noodles that looks impressive and satisfies but doesn't really provide any memorable experience. Actually cheap meat - can be glued together. My gristly meat didn't taste like real filet steak.
In summary - it was just OK - but I won't be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Soup, one steak and noodles, there is no salad anymore. The restaurant even didn’t offer bread. The steak sauce and the noodles tasted wired...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favorite Taiwanese night market steak place in the world, still tastes the same and great after all these years. Not really the most attentive or friendly staff but you don’t come here for the service.
