It is a phenomenon that occasionally occurs when cats change their environment, so the veterinarian asks us to record the diet and then observe it. But the cat’s vomiting did not improve the next day, and the amount of saliva was alarming. It happened that the hospital was closed on Sunday, so I decided to bring it back for examination early in the morning. This time, Dr. Xu Zhebin helped the cat to see. The doctor also informed us that the cat was infected with "cat plague" (the test results are two very obvious lines...). I know that there is a blank in my brain and I have no experience in raising cats I was frantically inquiring about relevant information. All the data showed that there is no specific medicine for this disease. The cat itself can only fight the virus, and the treatment time is at least seven days. No one can know the past. At the same time, I also thought in my heart, how could the greedy, lively and clingy cat get infected a few days ago? But... this seems to be difficult to avoid for stray cats. From hospitalization to discharge, the two-week period... it was very tormenting. 02/24 (Wednesday) On the third day of hospitalization, I was told by the doctor that the cat had anemia and needed a blood transfusion. Fortunately, the hospital has a blood bank, and on the day of the inquiry, the owner was willing to bring the cat to donate blood. This is really grateful. It is very common on the Internet to see owners asking about blood donation cats, and you can understand that you can’t find blood in a critical moment. It’s really tiring...). 02/25 (Thursday) After the first blood transfusion on the fourth day of hospitalization, the cat will finally scream, but...very weak... I originally thought that the blood test report would be better due to the blood transfusion, but was told by the doctor that it was not ideal because the cat began to vomit blood and pull blood in the stool (this is also a necessary process for cat plague) and anemia may lead to sepsis, and you need to face a second blood transfusion... At that time, my heart was really struggling, to what extent would I want to save it? After all, the cost of blood transfusion is not cheap and the doctor cannot guarantee that it will be saved. But every time I visit the cat, I feel that he is so strong! How can we not save him? So the second blood transfusion also resolutely agreed. Thanks to God’s blessing, the second time I found a cat willing to donate blood smoothly, and the cat improved after the second blood transfusion, and the blood test value also improved day by day. Finally, on the eighth day of hospitalization, I heard the positive news from Dr. Xu for the first time. After all, the doctor was really unable to give us the answer for the first few times (but it is understandable). Not sleeping well ? 3/3 (Wednesday) It was originally expected that the cat would be discharged on this day, but the cat started to vomit again. Dr. Xu told us that he was worried that the cat might have intussusception, so he needed an ultrasound examination the next day. But... shortly after returning home that day, I received a call from the doctor. Because the cat was vomiting in a mess, the doctor immediately took the ultrasound for him, and found that intussusception really occurred...The moment after the doctor informed of the cost of the operation, it was once. I feel a lot of pressure, but we are more afraid of losing his life than money. Because of cat plague, the cat’s physical condition is poor, and the operation is also a high-risk group, but should we still give him a chance? He has survived the cat plague, and I believe he can survive the operation too! 3/4-3/7 (Thursday-Sunday) What I feared most on the day of the operation was that he would leave us due to anesthesia, but fortunately everything was going in the right direction. I was worried that the wound might cause a second degree infection. And even though he has continued to have diarrhea these days, at least he has eaten more often! 3/9-3/10 (Tuesday-Wednesday) Finally, on Tuesday, I was told by the doctor that the cat could be discharged from the hospital the next day! I really appreciate that Huazhong Animal Hospital is willing to take in children infected with cat plague. Later I learned that this disease is likely to be rejected by the animal hospital. The protective measures for the entire environment of the hospital are also very good, and the disinfection work is thorough. We visited twice a day, and the staff at the counter and veterinarians were also very friendly and caring for the animals was really attentive and considerate. Even if Dr. Xu is not there, there will be doctors who understand the situation to assist in answering (super careful). This is the first time I have raised a cat. Although the cost of staying in the hospital for 10 days is staggering, the rebirth of a small life has long exceeded the value of money.
