The shape of the big stone is like an elephant. It is the site of Dongaimen in the former Chishan Rock. The steep slope is easy to defend and difficult to attack. It is an excellent gateway to defend against enemy invasion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明清時期，因漳泉械鬥，而漳州人為防禦泉州人的侵襲，在芝山岩周圍建立四個隘門作為堡壘，並各有金剛(神獸)鎮守。其中大石象遺跡仍佇立於東隘門方位，但可惜東隘門已倒塌拆除，遺跡亦不復見，且大石象後方的山路已封閉，無法通行。根據考古學家研究顯示，在大石象背上的坑洞，是史前人類搭建『桿欄式』住屋所遺留下的痕跡，稱之為【柱洞】，是芝山岩有史前人類居住的重要證據之一
During the Ming and Qing dynasties, due to Zhangquan fighting, Zhangzhou artificially defended against the invasion of the Quanzhou people. Four yamens were built around Zhishanyan as fortresses, and each was guarded by King Kong. Among them, the remains of the big stone elephant still stand in the direction of Dongmen Gate, but unfortunately the Dongmen Gate has been demolished, the ruins are no longer visible, and the mountain road behind the big stone elephant has been closed and cannot pass. According to archaeologist research, the pits on the back of the big stone elephant are traces left by prehistoric humans to build "pole-style" houses. They are called "pillar caves."
