It used to be one of the original stalls in Taiwan, but now, there are many other stalls like this one, making equally good deep fried num bread, if not better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Surprisingly lots of mixed reviews for this inexpensive snack. Goes to show when it comes to food there is no best or worst just what your taste buds prefer. In my humble opinion this was one of the best things I've eaten in Taipei haha. The pancake was deep fried and served immediately. Thin and crunchy...I added an egg and asked them to make the eggs a little runny and add lots of hot sauce. Oh my god. Loved it. I've had similar elsewhere and their pancake was much thicker and not as crunchy. Definitely prefer this one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very surprised to see the mixed reviews. To me this is the best scallion pancake in the entire world. It’s been here since I was a kid and remains one of my favorites in Shilin. It’s deep fried but not too oily at all (perhaps I’m comparing it to the American or Chinese oil level which are typically more oily in my experience). You need to get it spicy as it adds even more flavor and taste amazing with the egg (the chili is not spicy at all).
