雨農閱覽室 - Shilin District

On December 31, 1895, six teachers who had taught at Zhishanyan School encountered hundreds of anti-Japanese scholars and were beheaded and killed. The history is called the Zhishanyan incident. In 1929, the Zhishanyan Shrine, which was built near the original site of Mr. Liu's cemetery, was inaugurated. Around the 1950s, a rain farm reading room in memory of Dai Li was built on the site of the shrine.

The location of the shrine during the Japanese occupation period is now changed to the reading room to commemorate General Dai Li Dai Yunong and Chiang Kai-shek's military spy chief during the mainland era. There is a big camphor tree next to it, over 300 years old

A good place to read in the forest. The surrounding wooden walkway is lined with trees and the scenery is very good.

Here in 1930, the colonial government turned it into a shrine and established the "One Hundred and Two", which requires everyone to go through long and high paths, "respecting the heights," respecting teachers and the Japanese government. After an epoch, Shibayama Shrine, along with ashes of six teachers, tombs and related inscriptions and other cultural relics, was destroyed by self-righteous nationalism like other Japanese sites. Originally, a rain farm reading room was commemorated to honor the hero of the National Government Dai Dai, and the surrounding street It was also renamed, and because of being notified by the government, Zhishanyan became a military powerhouse. In the same way, a new regime has been changed, but the imposition of "loyalty and patriotism" has not changed. The incident described in this monument was transformed into a heroic confrontation by the Taiwanese against the colonial regime, and the bandits became heroes; the heroes fell into bandits. However, when these heroes found that the so-called "motherland" did not bring their due dreams, but a nightmare that attracted resistance, they were treated as bandits by the new regime, killing wildly and establishing a tragedy of rumblings ... Today after democratization, we have walked through these stories, not only remembering those once, but also understanding that we want to let those go, and not stage them again.

Very cute little reading room, Since it was not open during today's visit. Therefore, I didn't have the opportunity to enter the building interior to visit and experience it. But when I looked inside from the glass, the tables and chairs inside seemed to be old. Presumably this is still a place where historical preservation is the main focus, and reading functions are supplemented!
