★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 教育のために命を捧げた日本人教師による「芝山巌精神」の場です。この場所で、朱子学信者による宗教テロにより、台湾初の小学校｢芝山巌学堂｣の6名の日本人教員が殺害されました。犠牲者の一人は吉田松陰の甥でした。事前にテロ情報は学校に届いていましたが、「死して余栄あり、実に死に甲斐あり」と決意を示して避難せず、遭難しました。
It is a place of "Iwao Shibayama spirit" by a Japanese teacher who dedicated his life to education. At this location, six Japanese teachers at Taiwan's first elementary school, Shibayama Iwagakudo, were killed in a religious terrorist attack by Cheng-Zhu students. One of the victims was Shoin Yoshida's nephew. Information on terrorism had arrived at the school in advance, but he was distressed without evacuating, showing his determination that he was "death and prosperous, and really worth his death."
