奇岩一號－隱藏在溫泉飯店裡的 500 盤獲獎川菜餐廳 這次入住大地酒店，也享用了百聞不如一嚐的奇岩一號，早在獲獎前，這家餐廳的盛名已廣傳在美食饕客間，這次終於一償宿願！ 雖然是川菜料理，但害怕吃辣的人別擔心，口味已經有做改良調整，但不失風味。令人最印象深刻的是，比起傳統的川菜餐廳，他們的擺盤呈現更可以說是川菜界的創意料理，不止滿足口腹之慾，也滿足了視覺享受！ 在服務方面，服務生都相當了解自家餐廳的餐點特色與故事，在上菜時都會說菜，也有部分餐點是採桌邊服務，這一點真的很加分！如此能了解主廚的料理創意與想法，更能享受美食與其背後的知識。 推薦餐點： - 湘味剁椒魚頭（500 盤獲獎） 這是來到大地酒店奇岩一號必吃的招牌功夫菜，由於很費工，因此需要三天前預訂才能在用餐當日享用喔！碩大的鰱魚頭，舖上滿滿的鮮紅剁椒，一上桌香氣撲鼻，視覺和味覺都很棒！ - 稻香大地牛 看起來很厲害的一道料理，味道也很厲害！ 這是一道製作過程繁複的料理，主廚用台灣在地稻米梗編織成的草繩將牛小排綑緊後，經過慢火滷汁燉煮後，成為稻香與滷汁香氣四溢的滷牛小排，實在佩服主廚有此創意及料理技巧！ - 川味口水雞 口水雞相當適合作為開胃菜，軟嫩的雞肉吸飽了微辣的醬汁，一口下肚胃口大開，醬汁也很適合淋在飯上開胃！ - 海鮮豆腐煲 海鮮的份量與新鮮實在令人驚艷，而湯頭相當綿密，海鮮的鮮味非常飽滿！

Chinese Restaurant - Good Szechuan style food in a nice environment, and many dishes to choose from.

The food is delicious. I can recommend the chef's short rib. But the service is disappointing. Missed orders, wrong information about ingredients, bills with items we haven't ordered, waiting for 15min for the bill etc. We have been here quite a few times and there was always an issue with the service.

Service was fantastic. A single waitress, with some help, was able to take care of 20 of my family members at two tables. The braised beef rib was novel. It comes wrapped in a wheat sheath that helps to impart some earthiness and more importantly, keeps the meat contained because it comes out falling off the bone. The other dishes were fine, but leaned on the more stereotypical Szechuan "ma" spiciness. Nothing else really stood out, and serving sizes were really small. The most disappointing was the Iberico pork sour soup. They probably could've just used regular pork for that, because the sourness completely overpowered the flavor of the pork. If you were lucky enough to get a fatty piece, you might be able to get a hint of the Iberico. Overall, the price was too high to make this a meal of good value. There's only one dish worth coming back for a second taste. The location also does it no favors. It is located at the top of a hill near Xinbeitou MRT. Either hike up there, or navigate the narrow streets with your vehicle.

Nice ambience. Authentic Hunan cuisine. Good services. Definitely worth dining here if you are in the Beitou area for hot spring too.

During our stay at The Gaia Hotel, we dropped by this restaurant that serves Sichuan and Hunan cuisine. For starters, we were recommended a salad that was very unique. Once the Areca Flower Salad with Sesame Sauce (NT$380/ S$17.30) is served, the server will the toss the salad and portion it for you. I was a huge fan of the Sautéed Green Beans with Minced Pork (NT$360/ S$16.40) here. It came with thick burrito skins for you to wrap the vegetable and pork in. The next most impressive dish was the Chef Short Rib Specialty (NT$1780/ S$80.90). This huge rib would be served to you table side, which the chef hand wraps every day with straw (dao cao). You could smell the straw and when the server cut it open, steam would rise from the rib. We saw him effortlessly separate the beef from the bone, then chopping it and plating it with a side of the sauce it was marinated it or salt. I can't not have desserts at the end of my meal but instead of having the usual cold type of dessert, we chose to have the Deep Fried Handmade Steamed Roll (NT$250/ S$11.40). It is basically a bigger and longer version of mantou. They also sprinkled fragrant shaved peanuts on top, and served it with a side of sweet condensed milk. So comforting!
