★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The former sulfur mine closed by the 1980's due to environmental concerns. Now it is a peaceful place to look at the lake, just outside Beitou near Shamao mountain.

It would not be recommended to go there on foot from Beitu station as you need to walk by the road side for a certain distance (no proper foot-path allowed).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The trail to get to this spot involves many steps, and the effort may not be worth it if you're looking for beautiful scenery. The lake is more interesting than it is pretty, and the whole effect is somewhat spoiled by the presence of pipes. Still, if you've been to the Xingyi Road spa houses, this is an eye-opening excursion which shows how the sausage is made.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Earth gives vent to its feelings. Great place to see volcano up close and personal, but take care and do pay attention to warning signs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There's a short walk up along a stream that leads to a temple and you can get some decent views but other than that there isn't much. Wouldn't really recommend stopping by if you are on foot considering it's about a 45min uphill walk from Thermal Valley.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the source of hot spring for nearby spa houses. The scenery is not nice as it is full of pipes. But if you have the time, you can climb the stairs and enter a short trail from here. The scenery is nice along the trail.
