Historic Buildings The Haikouzhuang police station was built during the Japanese occupation period. It was originally a police agency under the jurisdiction of the Huwei County Office. It is currently a Taixi branch office and is the first historical building when the 158 lane entered the Taixi township. This building is the common memory of many old people of the 60s and 70s in Taixi, but it was almost demolished because of the reconstruction of the Taixi Police Station in 1999.

"Haikouzhuang Police Station" and "Haikouzhuang Chief Mansion" are the only two police and government buildings in Taixi Township that have survived during the Japanese and Showa period. Since they registered cultural assets in the county, they have actively sought funding from the central government to handle these two buildings. Research, planning and design work, and is currently undergoing the most important restoration work of the main building. The police station was built in Showa 6 (CE 1931), and the Zhuangzhang quarters were built by the last Japanese Zhuangzhang Xiangyi, who was built in Showa 12. The Haikouzhuang Police Station was built on February 6, the 6th year of the Japanese occupation period (20 years of the Republic of China), under the jurisdiction of the police organ under the Huwei County Office of Tainan Prefecture. With the change of Taiwan's administrative region to the county government, Haikou was restructured in Taixi Township in the Republic of China in 39. The name was once changed to "Taixi Police Station". The name of Haikouzhuang Police Station went into history.

Small and cute, there is an exhibition of ancient Japanese customs held in the dormitory of Haikou Zhuangchang. The exhibition period is from 2020/8/19 to 2020/10/8.

The re-use of historical sites is the greatest aspiration of those who love historical sites.

1/29 (Saturday) It was not open on the day of the visit. The surrounding parking may be managed so as not to damage the historic site. It is really valuable to be preserved. I hope that it can be well maintained, revitalized and reused in the future, combined with the story house, the clam hall and the surrounding beliefs.
