昭和9年に完成したこのビルはもともと「基隆港合同庁舎」と呼ばれ、税関や穀物・植物検査署など港湾に関する総合庁舎として利用されてきました。
幸いにも戦火を免れて、今なお美しいビルは現存し関税局として利用されており、台灣人の手により大切に保存されています。
