活動緣起:清乾隆年間，客家人為了保家衛民，偕同閩南人及平埔原住民組成義民軍，除暴安良與叛軍對抗，百餘人犧牲了寶貴生命守護家園，清廷為了紀念這些陣亡的義民，建廟供後代祭拜，義民爺也成為臺灣客家人獨特的信仰
Hsinchu Xionglin Yimin Festival
The origin of the activity: During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, in order to protect their homes and the people, the Hakkas formed a volunteer army with the South Fujianese and Pingpu aborigines to fight against the rebels. More than a hundred people sacrificed their precious lives to protect their homes. The Qing court commemorated these fallen Yimin built temples for future generations to worship, Yimin Ye has also become a unique belief of Taiwan Hakkas
