This time we arrived here because we had to place the tablet. The roads along the way were narrow and it was difficult to get a car when climbing. The temple occupies a large area, but when we arrived in the temple, we saw the ceiling falling from the roof and the walls were peeling. The paint on the pillars also fell off, lost their original luster, and was messy everywhere. It's really a pity that only three monks were seen inside. It's no wonder that there are things to connect. It's really difficult. What a pity!

It is also a temple of the temple. In 1953, it was invited by Master Nan Huai and the Master of the Keelung Buddhist Lecture, and was assisted by General Zhou Zhirou to Taiwan. Master Lingyuan saw that there was no Buddhist temple in Keelung, and he was willing to build a temple and establish the Shifang Dajue Temple.

Shifang Dajue Temple

Shifang Dajue Temple
Shifang Dajue Temple is located on the top of the hillside of Chongde Road in Anle District.
The Shifang Dajue Temple, built on the mountain, is majestic and magnificent, and retains the garden pattern of ancient Chinese style. The environment is elegant and quiet.
Shifang Dajue Temple has many halls around the courtyard, especially the four statues of Tianwang in the Tianwang Hall, which are even more impressive. The tall and mighty image makes people admire and awe. There is also the Mahavira Hall in the backyard. You can come to a Guanyin Pavilion in the back mountain, which enshrines the thousand-handed thousand-eyed Guanyin, solemn and kind, and is a very quiet and solemn Buddhist resort.
In addition, there are also temples such as the Cangjing Tower and the Wuguan Hall, which give the whole a solemn and peaceful atmosphere, making people feel as if they are in the pure land of a Buddhist country. The patriarchal hall at the back is dedicated to the relics of the old monk Xuyun, and on the side stands a seven-story pagoda, which can be seen from the lighthouse and the entire city can be seen.
According to records, in the 43rd year of the Republic of China, Venerable Weiding, a walking monk, vowed to build a temple on the top of the ridge of Shixiang, Chongde Road, Yongkang, and invited the famous Zhejiang monk Lingyuan to be the abbot of the temple. At that time, most of the Zhejiang sailors lived in Keelung, and the sea was dangerous, so they devoutly prayed to the Buddha, no matter whether they sailed or returned to Hong Kong, they did not forget to come to this temple to pray first, so the incense of Dajue Temple began to flourish, and donations gradually gradually As more and more, Dajue Temple was able to expand rapidly and on a large scale. Then in the 48th year of the Republic of China, the seven-level Anle Pagoda was built. The Mahavira Hall of the whole temple is in the middle, the Ksitigarbha Hall is in the back, the Dabei Hall is on the left, the Dajue Buddha Hall and the Lecture Hall, and the upper and lower floors of the Tianwang Hall are large in scale.
Shifang Dajue Temple is an important center for the foundation of Zen Buddhism in Taiwan. Its solemn and simple appearance, the solemn and distant sound of morning bells and drums, and the landscape scenery of Keelung Port make the "Dajue Sanskrit" here also listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Keelung.
