Xizhi was formerly called "Water Return Feet". In 1920, it was renamed "Xizhi". The church was called "Water Return Feet Church" when it was established. On March 9, 1872, Dr. Ma Yi (Pastor Yu Ruili) went ashore in Danshui to start the missionary, medical, and educational ministry in the north. In 1874, Rev. Yu established Nangang Church (formerly known as Mie Po). After the gathering, they walked to Nangang to worship. Later, the number of believers increased due to Xi. In addition, Rev. Xun also established the Xikou (Songshan) Church in 1875. The believers who live in the Songshan area returned to worship in Xikou. Therefore, the pastor in January 1882 On the 2nd, the Church of Sanchongpu was abolished, and the equipment in the chapel was moved to Xizhi. The preacher, Mr. Gao Zhen, was also accompanied by the order of Rev. Qi to the Xizhi Pastoral Church. This was the beginning of the Shuihuijiao (Xizhi) Church.
