★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's so easy and convenient to travel between Shifen Old Street and Shifen Waterfall. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the Waterfall. There are taxis that offer their service but they all charge a flat rate of NT100 which just seems unnecessary if you're capable of walking. The scenery to get there is really beautiful too. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All sky lanterns were falling down on the rail or in the woods. It’s strange that people let sky lantern rising up but never thinking about how it ended. Even though there is a recycling system but there are still lots of sky lanterns falling apart. Not to mention that the recycling system only accepts iron and bamboo. Those artificial papers were staying on the tree for so many months and years. Horrible activity with short sight.
There should be more meaningful activities to experience in Taiwan. This is an awful way. Last thing recommended in the world.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be sure to come on 15 of the first Lunar month to Attend the lantern festival! With lots of sky lanterns set off into the dark night! A once in a life time experience! Can be many crowds but definitely worth it! If coming early can go to the service center for free lanterns to be set off with all others at the festival!
