The Big Barrel Mountain is located in Wulai Township, Taipei County, and the mountain looks like a big, round barrel. There are two main climbing routes in Datongshan. One is to climb from Zhongzhi Village in the northwest of Datongshan, and the other is from No. 223, Lane 172, Guishan Road, in the northeast of Datongshan. The latter takes the edge and saves half of the time on a short road. There are several other routes that can climb Datongshan, or the roads are not in good condition, or you have to climb other peaks, which is not as convenient as these two routes. From Xinwu Road (Taijiujia Line), turn left at about 11K and enter Zhongzhi Village. When you meet the fork road along the way, take a straight straight. Go ahead for about 1.4 kilometers to the "Jinyan 113" residential house (Mushroom Garden) in Zhongzhi Village. parking. Stop here, then walk up the industrial road, and the subsequent road becomes narrower, barely feasible, but has walked for a short time, too lazy to go back and drive. Taking this cement road, although monotonous, has unexpected gains. Along the way, I suddenly saw the birds flying out of the nearby forest, and then saw more than ten birds flying in the sky, just like a collective dance. The sky high bird is small and unrecognizable. Looking at the flying posture, it probably belongs to the eagle family. About 10 minutes, after passing the corner of the lane, you see a trail and climbing strip on the left. This is the mountaineering point of Datongshan Mountain, but there is no official index. If you come by car, go around this turn, if you only pay attention to the corners, you might miss this mountain entrance. When entering the Datongshan Mountaineering Trail, there was only a short section of road with a little more weeds, and the road surface collapsed a little. There are tall trees shaded along the way, the trail is covered with fallen leaves, and it is quite comfortable to walk. After walking for more than ten minutes, the trail turned steep, and the first-order sleeper ladder was coiled upwards, counted, about four hundred steps, and finally reached the edge of the barrel. There is a left fork road leading to the nearby Sikanshui Mountain, which takes about 15 minutes. After ascending the ridgeline, the trail becomes gentle, which can slightly ease the hard work of climbing along the way. Soon, the oncoming staircase was straight up, climbed to another mountain edge, and there were three hundred steps, and then reached the end of the sleeper walkway. The wide walkway became a traditional dirt road, and the mountain path became narrow. . Then cross a short section of Miscanthus. According to the map data of the Chinese Mountain Blue Sky Team in 2000, it is marked as "Tea Garden Top". There are fork roads leading to nearby hillside tea gardens, but nowadays, the grass is overgrown and the scene is no longer there. Through the Miscanthus area, the forest is restored to a trail. Traveling alone in the forest, the forest path is slightly undulating. Soon, when passing through a section of rock edge area, a piece of rock like tofu lies on the edge, and the forest is open, overlooking the Wulai mountains. Soon, it suddenly descended to a saddle at the edge of the rock, where the trees were sparse, facing the mountain breeze and very cool. Here you can see the figure of the Feicui Reservoir dam and the lake and mountain scenery of a small corner upstream of the reservoir. Looking down, the hillside below the saddle has a large exposed rock wall. The industrial road further down the mountainside is Guishan Road, and residential houses are scattered along the roadside.

Last time from the loyalty tribe on the Guishan Road, the highest point actually went to 910m, passing through the very beautiful and original Chinese fir forest! However, this height is prone to heavy rain in the afternoon. After the rain, the original small stone road may become a rushing river, and people along the road are scarce, so be careful.

The first half of the entrance is steep, the middle half of the mausoleum is stimulating, and the second half is full of smoke and grass. The risk is very high, it is not recommended to go for single attack or lack of sense of direction. Be sure to go down the mountain before 17:30 pm

Although the paved trails of the route are not complete, the track is clear and easy to walk, don't worry about getting lost The road to the top is steep, and there is no prospect at the top of the mountain. You can walk forward to Wulai Mountain, but the distance is far and steep, and few people walk
