以舊成福庄地區得名。古名城仔，距今約186年前安溪頂郊人翁添，率投靠之鄉親入墾此地時，曾築土城設木柵以抵禦先住民之侵襲，因有此稱，為紀念開墾成功，眾議將城仔改稱成福。取其成之原意與城之諧音相當，而又有成功發達之意。
