★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As compare to the review i read, this shop didn’t offer samples to try at all and didn’t even bother to serve the customer. They have another newer shop opened just opposite and is of modern design... end up walking out the shop and bought souvenir from other shop instead

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shin Jen Cheng Bakery (新建成餅店) was in Tamsui, Taiwan and had been in business for several decades. They were famous for their transitional Chinese wedding cakes. I went to their old store in the Tamsui old street area. They had two other newer stores nearby selling the same products. The staffs were friendly. Their specialty pastry Sesame Salted Egg Yolk was highly recommended by my friend. I tried it and was indeed great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the traditional Taiwanese pastry. The best flavor is the sesame egg-yolk. It used to be a wedding gift for the relatives, to share the good luck.
