★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While Tamsui can be really far from the city I would say that it is definitely worth the commute.
This part is the old street which is lined by a huge selection of shops that sell you almost everything. Sample the different food around the area. The Cuttlefish sausage (black taiwanese sausage) is definitely a must try. These streets used get really busy and crowded especially before the pandemic. Nowadays the crowds are more manageable.
For a more peaceful Tamsui experience, you could take a stroll along the riverside. This part offers wide and open spaces where you could relax in relative peace. The fresh air and nice view coupled with the glut of cafes and other food options overlooking the harbor makes it a nice place to unwind.

When the sun going down, waking by the riverside and eating some street foods would be the first choice, and you never regret!
PPL around here can take the beautiful scenery and yummy food.
It’s very convenient to go by the MRT or bus and the river biking trail is also a great way to adventure here.
