★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The taro ice cream ain’t as rich as I’d like but still pretty good. There’s usually a line but the wait time isn’t long. If you’re a taro lover definitely give this place a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s tasty but I think it’s overrated. The taro flavor is great as you can taste the authentic flavor. Seatings inside available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like this local old time favorite taro ice cream. Though it is quite expensive for its kind, the place offers a classic deco and comfortable seating areas that brings you back to the old days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heard from two locals (friend + taxi driver) that this place is where a lot of tourists like to go. “Give if a try if you pass by it” my friend had said.
So we did and realized they were being polite - it’s basically a tourist trap.
As other reviewers have put it, it’s very standard/even mediocre for traditional Taiwanese ice cream. 桂圓 was the best flavor we tried, because it wasn’t just ice cream but included longyan bits (ie that the store probably didn’t make themselves). The taro flavor, which is the store’s namesake, wasn’t that taro.
It’s 50NTD for three scoops though so we won’t give it too much flack. The place/decor itself is also kinda cute, with wood furniture, an old ice cream vending cart, and charming photos of the “old street” on the walls.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic Taiwanese sorbet-like ice cream that comes in just a few unique flavours of purple rice, dried longan, yam, peanut, red bean and pineapple to choose from. One cup serving allows a person to choose three flavours for a mix, and it costs just NTD45. That’s really cheap while tasting really good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Traditional Taiwanese ice cream (叭噗) made without dairy product. $50 for 3 scoops - great for after lunch dessert, especially on a hot day. Had Taro (best), peanut and red bean. Serving is quite generous. 2 servings will easily serve 3 person. Parking is hard - we ate in the car.
