兩年前,開始在喚醒堂上課,晚上的喚醒堂,十分安靜,合唱的聲音似乎會打擾到鄰居的安寧;因此,目前只有詩詞吟唱是在喚醒堂上課,利用下午的時間,比較不會打擾到鄰居。 喚醒堂在頭城鎮當地,自古即富有詩詞文化氣息,歷史上曾有登瀛詩社在此成立、發展,也留下許多當時當地詩人的作品,頭城鎮公所在前幾年還特地聘請專家,將那些與頭城人事物有關的詩作,集結成書。 喚醒堂每年都舉辦許多短期的研習活動,包括學習書法、學習寫詩,及善書「渡世慈帆」的教學等等,嘉惠鎮民;此外,白天時間在喚醒堂另有許多社團,也在此地上課。例如:卡拉ok班、畫畫班、日語班,及與頭城文化發展、頭城士紳史料探究等有關的一些研討課程。 喚醒堂本身的建築,也處處都是歷史,幾乎每個角落都可以講一個故事。喚醒堂正中央,供奉主神王天君的那間廟宇建築,蓋成方形的,也是有學問的。據說是仿自官帽的形狀。 一般廟宇旁邊都有金爐,喚醒堂的是字紙爐;不是用來燒金紙的,而是燒寫字用過的廢紙。其精神,是在珍惜紙資源,尊重寫在紙上的文字。 喚醒堂的那口井,目前是用鐵條封起來,聽說那井水曾是活泉。 頭城鎮上的喚醒堂,是個鸞堂,還分支到全省各地去,過去會舉辦扶鸞的活動,現在已經沒有了。但是,今年的扶鸞特展,還是邀請了埔里的鸞堂來共襄盛舉,醒覺堂道長請誥接駕的,就是喚醒堂的主神。

The Awakening Hall in Toucheng Town is a Luan Hall, and it is also branched out across the province. In the past, Fu Luan activities will be held, but it is now gone. However, this year's Fuluan Special Exhibition, still invited the Luli Hall of Puli to join in the grand celebration. 在一般台灣傳統民間信仰的道教廟宇,喚醒堂的建築雖然小了點,但算是非常的工整。戲台、講堂、 寬闊的廟埕,後庭園, 通通都有。 真的可以算是模範宮廟! 只是頭城週邊的蘭陽博物館、 老街......等等, 新開發的景點陸續出現, 反而這個在頭城火車站旁邊的景點,逐漸沒落。 不過因為這邊有特殊的傳襲歷史, 在台灣宮廟的外擴的傳承系統, 有的重要的地位,因此應該可以往文化觀光的路線來發展。如果可以再做到宗教教化黎民,那也不是現代宮廟之使命!

[喚醒堂]是一座鸞堂,鸞堂是恩主信仰(也稱儒宗神教),恩主是對人有恩德的主神,主要神祇有關雲長、呂洞賓、岳飛。民間以關雲長為首,所以直稱關雲長為恩主公。鸞堂嚴格說來不是廟,是讓人扶鸞問事傳達神旨的場所,扶鸞時虔請神靈附身在鸞生(知名作家紀曉嵐就曾擔任過鸞生)上,再藉由鸞筆(由桃柳二木組合而成,俗稱桃枝柳筆)於沙盤浮字,傳達訊息。[喚醒堂]建於1895年,1900年遷至現址,有學者的研究,頭城喚醒堂分香淡水行忠堂,再分香覺修宮,而後才是[行天宮]。 隔著大埕與正堂相對的戲臺,左右門額上的「出馬」「歸羊」,與大部分戲臺的「出將」「入相」大異其趣!原來,這不是戲臺,這是專為傳道用途的宣講台,台上所有文字也都在傳道。「馬」表示對主人的忠心,「羊」表示孝順,「出馬、歸羊」即「出忠、入孝」之意。中間橫批「喚世早醒」。 [就正軒書院]是頭圍地主盧廷翰的夫人陳定娘在日治時期(西元1917年)創設,陳定娘與孤孫盧纘祥(纘:ㄗㄨㄢˇ)相依為命,不希望盧纘祥受日本教育,就在喚醒堂設立就正軒書院,延聘當地碩儒吳祥輝教授漢學詩文,奠定了盧纘祥的漢學基礎,盧纘祥後來成了宜蘭首任民選縣長。 [喚醒堂]除了附設[就正軒書院],西廂房還設登瀛吟社,對頭城的文化與文學發展,有很深遠的影響。大埕中有一口水井,當時是寫毛筆的硯臺水,還有一座字紙亭,提醒學生要惜紙敬字。

[Jing Zhengxuan Academy] was the founder of the landlord Lu Tinghan, Chen Dingniang, who was founded during the Japanese occupation period (1917). Chen Dingniang and the lonely grandson Lu Yuxiang (缵:ㄗㄨㄢˇ) lived together and did not want Lu Yuxiang to be educated in Japan. The church was established in Zhengxuan Academy, and the local scholar Xu Wenhui's Han Xue poetry was hired to lay the foundation of Lu Yuxiang's sinology. Lu Yuxiang later became the first elected county magistrate of Yilan. [Wake-up Hall] In addition to the [Just Zhengxuan Academy], the West Wing House also has a boarding society, which has a profound influence on the cultural and literary development of the city.
