南宋末年，元兵入侵。柳信（後稱大王公）、葉誠（後稱二王公）、黃勇（或作英勇，後稱三王公）三人義結金蘭，立志扶宋，最後寡不敵眾而壯烈犧牲。
清代時，閩南漳州移民拓墾台灣，傳入了古公三王信仰，認為古公三王素為武神，為防番之神，可以防備生番出草獵首，故多有立廟。
The Lord enshrines the three kings of the ancient gong, founded in 1917
In the late Southern Song Dynasty, Yuan soldiers invaded. Liu Xin (later known as the Great Prince), Ye Cheng (later known as the Second Prince), and Huang Yong (or heroic, later known as the Three Princes) made up for Jinlan, determined to support the Song Dynasty, and finally became outnumbered and sacrificed heroically.
In the Qing Dynasty, Zhangzhou, southern Fujian, immigrated to Taiwan and introduced the belief of the three kings of the ancient gongs. They believed that the three kings of the ancient gongs were always the gods of war.
