Some people say it is the Yilan version of "King Xiu Yuan". Around 1959, a monk known as "Master Nine Fingers" made a vow to make a clay statue more than 100 meters below the Miao Shi Temple at No. 23, Lane 103, Zhongxiao Road, Jiaoxi Township. Made by Chen Luguan of Lulushan Xuanfo Store[1]. Chen Luguan, also known as "Chen Chengguan", commonly known as "Optimistic Teacher", his grandfather Chen Qingbiao and his father Chen Yuanling used to work in Fuzhou, but they came to Taiwan after arriving in Chen Luguan [2]. Chen Luguan used the green bamboo of Jiaoxi as the skeleton, the bamboos were tied with straw ropes, the thick bamboo body was used as the backbone, the thin parts were used as the legs, hands, face, and ears, and the white stone feet were filled with soil. Material, when the clay is covered to a certain thickness, put on a layer of linen to increase the strength. After several days of air-drying, it is covered with a layer of soil and a layer of linen, and so on. Kim, which took about 2 years to make, was completed in 1964 or 1965[1]. In 2006, Jiaoxi Township carried out the rezoning of its own municipal land for the dedicated area for health and leisure. The location where the giant Buddha is located is located in the rezoned area, but it does not conform to the content of the rezoned area and must be relocated. The Miaoshi Temple itself is narrow, and there is no suitable place for the Buddha statue to be relocated. The believers threw their daggers in front of the Buddha and asked if they agreed to move to "Yuanshan" (referring to the Yuanshan Park in Jiaoxi). However, the relevant units did not agree, because the statues could not be set up in the park. [1]
