Clean and basic. A bit too expensive. $4200NTD per night for 4 people room. Should be $3500. Breakfast buffet is good.

Our booking room is similar to dormitory of university, simple but enough, small but clean, basic equipment, balcony, parking lot. Because of their location in deep mountain, their chamber is moist and cold in winter, but they additionally provide a dehumidifier and a heater to us, quite warm. I am looking forward to their chalet, next time.

Wood house is ok for no nearby restaurants around this tour spot, but the room lights are not bright enough and the bathroom wall is spotted with dirt and mold though.

Worth staying for the location. 明池 is a must see. The restaurant is passable at best. Rooms are okay (we stayed at a 3-bed cabin), but don't expect much in terms of service or amenities.

We purchased a two-day one-night plan with a pick-up service from Taipei to Yilan and a giant tree tour during the Dragon Boat Festival. The view was good, especially when the fog was off and it was literally like you were in heaven. But with the services of the hotel itself, it turned into a nightmare that you would never be willing to experience again. We arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon thereabouts, and the staff informed us that we were not allowed to get into the room until 4 PM -- which was later than other hotels. Therefore, we had our lunch at the only restaurant in the area, which had a slippery floor and musty smell and definitely could not call it a meal. The hotel also provided guided tours in the afternoon, but part of the tour route hindered the housekeeper from cleaning the rooms and They shouted at us to let them throw the linen bags away. However, they were not as hospitable as the customers had hoped. We stayed in room 1109, the room was fine, but it was next to the aisle, parking lot, and main building which was noisy from daytime to nighttime. The next day, as the hotel requested, we checked out and waited in the lobby at 10:15 AM for the giant tree tour. The tour package should include a free luggage service that will send your luggage to another hotel building next to the parking lot and will help us take the shuttle bus back to Taipei faster. The receptionist neither informed us of the luggage free service nor asked us if we were availing the tour. Anyhow, the staff at the reception told us to wait in the lobby. We followed their instructions until my husband realized that other guests were already waiting in the van. We complained to the staff about the receptionist not telling us that we should find the van ourselves, but the staff told us they would find us if we were not in the van, so we did not need to worry. They even asked us where our luggage was sent to. I wonder if the person in charge of luggage service did not know, who else knows? This scenario could have been prevented if they were careful. They didn’t even apologize for wasting their guests' time. Not to mention the giant tree tour--a guided tour which led at least 40 people who, however, were unable to hear the introduction. The driver sent us back to the parking lot, where the giant tree office was. Once again, even though the staff who stood in front of the giant tree office knew our luggage was in their green container house (the giant tree office), she did not provide any help proactively. The only thing she did was look at us and said nothing until we asked her about our luggage, then she pointed at the container house and we picked it up ourselves. What a great service that could have been. The shuttle bus was in another parking lot -- again, the staff did not tell us until we asked -- and a few buses were waiting. Those buses did not have signs or cards; you had to ask those bus drivers one by one. It is hardly a package tour. Except for the hotel itself, all of the other vendors were outsourced, and they did not work together. They only knew what they were supposed to do individually and didn't know how to accommodate guests. We do not recommend anyone to come here.

DO NOT COME. 不要來。不建議來。尤其時序冬天或攜帶長輩。價格高（NT$8000+)但服務與設施未體現價值。 Strongly NOT Recommended, esp in winter or with elders. The facilities and accommodation are not only old but also lack of maintenance. Seriously short of staff too. However it is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE (NT$8000+; esp. against the facilities and service). Personally, I have visited many resorts in Taiwan domestic and abroad at the seaside and mountain side, this experience ranks worst No.1. In winter, the temperature is under 10 Celsius (even inside the cabin) and normally rainy with high humidity but there’s no “heating system” in the room, the hot water requires to be waited for more than 30 mins or even longer and there’s only one single light sheet on bed. We had to call the reception once after another to inquire about more support yet the cable phone in the room was ill-functioning, 70% of time receptionist couldn’t hear us. I would give -5 stars if there’s an option. One star is too kind and generous. Though it is situated in a beautiful mountain with amazing forest, I’m still very disappointed at how bad they have managed the accommodations. And the price is just ridiculously high even on weekday ( particularly considering the offered services). If the group has the privileged to get the bid and run resort business here, the least requirement is to guarantee the guests’ safety and well-being. Unfortunately, we have not been offered or experienced those or even mere hospitality at any point. Again anyone is planning to visit, you are highly recommended not to come. There are many much better options in Taiwan rather than this one.

It was raining hard the day when we were here. The hotel are just okay, maybe quality for three stars. But the staffs are kind and welcoming, provided you with all you need to know. Included breakfast are fine also, but the coffee have so much room to improve even it is freshly machine made, the coffee bean just very low in quality!

The nature surrounding is 6 stars, the hotel and service is 3 stars. Because this is the only place you can stay and eat, there is no competition. The hotel is expensive for what it is. Furniture is falling apart, mirror frame is broken, the worst part is that dust collected in all the window sills. Beautiful red cypress window frame is so hard to find, yet they fail to maintain it. We pay almost 6000 NT to get room thats not even clean, it’s pretty upsetting. However, no other choice. You can only ask for cleaner room if there is option. There is bed warmer which helps as the night gets only 8 degree. Dehumidifier is pretty disquesting, dirty and moldy.
