2018.08 Well-preserved old house, must visit every time you go to Chuanyi Center The former residence of Huang Yanxu, the first person in Yilan, was built in the 3rd year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1877). It was originally located in front of the Youai Department Store in Yilan City. It was demolished due to urban planning in the early 1990s. The fourth generation of Huang Juren donated buildings and cultural relics on the ground. They were demolished and preserved in 1996, and in June 2001 in the National Traditional Art The center is rebuilt and the precious traditional buildings are preserved. The master first numbered the removed bricks, tiles, and woods, and then reorganized them according to the traditional construction method. The reconstruction project was performed on-site by the famous carpenters Lin Tianfa and Mr. Li Qingtang, the only remaining in Yilan County. Juren House is also the first century-old traditional building demolition preservation case in Yilan County. Most of Taiwan's traditional courtyard houses are facing south, and the "Chang Yi Nanxun" on the gate illustrates the swaying south wind in the bamboo forest in summer, presenting the idyllic scene of traditional houses. The "Wen Kui" plaque hung on the gate of the concave longevity of the body is for the imperial examination of Geng Zien in the 20th year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty (1840), and was erected by Wu Wenrong, the minister of the Ministry of War, Fujian Provincial Governor. The "Four Virtues" in the front of the main hall, as well as the couplets "Four Pied Ding, New Rounds and Everlasting World", "The Stars of Virtue Shine on the Rest of the Light and Creates Civilization" are passed down as Huang Jinxu's personal mention. The first words "four" and "de" in the joint heads of the upper and lower Lianhe correspond to the "Four Virtues" in the gate. The walls of Huang Juren’s house are woven into a network of bamboo slabs, painted with mud, straw, and rice. The surface is covered with white ash, which is a distinctive "bamboo-woven wall with mud." The ink-painting of "Zhen Gui Kai Ji Tu" on the front door represents Huang Ju's accomplishment and fame; the two "Gao Shi Tu" in the second ink paintings metaphor Huang Ju's calm temperament in life.
