This classic Cantonese restaurant has been open for half a century and it just keeps getting better! The original owner still sits at the counter everyday since the 1970’s. It’s part of many Taipeiers childhood memories, and still a place that the locals love.

The famous roast duck is absolutely delicious and worth trying. Don’t miss it if you come here. Personally I like the baked seafood with papaya, it’s a really impressive dish and I like the mixture of fruit and seafood. However one of my friend doesn’t appreciate it because he thinks the taste of papaya is way too strong so that it makes the taste seafood sort of weird. The service is poor, to be frank. The attendant is unprofessional at recommending the cuisines; I asked for his recommendation but he just read all the name of the dishes. That’s no help at all. And we waited for at least 30mins for the roast duck after we finished all our meals, and we asked what was wrong for twice but no answer. I believe their service is poor and doesn’t deserve Michelin star.

Worth a visit! Interesting Cantonese dishes and some were new to me! The cooked papaya dish was unique and delicious. Great for big groups, recommend reservations before!

Ordered takeout during semi lockdown in Taiwan for our celebration. Was definitely a lot of food for 2 people, but the highlight was definitely the fried grouper. Everything else was good, although we thought the mahjong layer steamed cake, while cute, was a bit lackluster for that of a Michelin star restaurant. Definitely on the pricey side too, am not sure the food, while good, was completely worth the price paid for.

The best value for money Michelin one star restaurant. Beijing duck is good but the wrap is a bit doughy. My favourite was the Chinese mille foglie, super rich and such an enjoyment.

Came here because of the Michelin star. Service is great, decorations excellent, menu has lot of choice. Price obviously will be in the high range. Taste and presentation in general is good. A bit disappointed is the duck meat in deep fried Taro paste. This is a rare dishes hard to found now. It is recreated but the taste is not as good as I was expecting.

Thought it was a Taiwanese cuisine before going there. Actually it’s a modified Cantonese cuisine. The taste is a little bit lighter as the health concept becomes the mainstream of local restaurants. Overall experience is good with good service.

There is always a good reason for a restaurant to be around for many decades withstanding trend changes and adverse economy times. It serves typical Cantonese cuisine with many added trendy touches. Once in a while, we should pamper ourselves to have a feast of many courses of decent Chinese food other than forking a plate of spaghetti dotted with a few tiny meat balls or sipping a bowl of shredded pork noodles that we need to fish out those few sunken pork strings. So, round up your foodie friends and you'll find out why has this restaurant been around for so many years. Although it's an old restaurant with traditional Chinese decors and they are serious about their food and service but they show their humorous side too. Last course , a dessert, we had was sweet pastry made like some Mahjong game tiles- 紅中, 發財,白板, which is how their restaurant named after.
