The ancestral hall is close to the mountain. The wooden buildings are seriously decaying and the termites are seriously invaded. Among the nine ancestral halls in Xinpu, the earliest was established in 1858 but the latest restoration started. The restoration of this 160-year-old home temple began in June 2017. The planned construction period is about 1 year.

Fan's family temple is the earliest ancestral hall built in Xinpu, and the building looks towering and solemn. The gate adopts three gates and six gates, and a plaque of "Fan Family Temple" is hung above it to show the identity of the family temple. Subsidized successively for "investigation and research projects" (96), "emergency repair projects" (100), "repair and reuse design" (104), and "repair and reuse projects" (106), totaling NT$28.8 million The repair project cost was 25 million NT dollars. The construction started in July 106 and was completed in September 107. The whole construction process is in accordance with the ancient methods, from the soil wall, to the roof tiles, cut and glued decoration, each construction method, one brick and one tile, is all hand-made, keeping the original style as much as possible to reproduce the architectural wisdom of the ancestors. What's more worth mentioning is that during the floor finishing process of this renovation, the latitude and longitude and feng shui indicators "division stones" that were important for construction in the past were dug out. The division stones are generally used when important buildings were constructed in the past. In order to align the center line of the building to confirm the location of the building and conform to the geographical feng shui, the buried masonry, according to the textual research of cultural and historians, even contains the relevant materials for the creation of people, such as general temples or important buildings. , Will be buried in the ground, this project found the architectural mystery of the ancestors, with the approval of the Fan family, decided to cover it with transparent tempered glass, in addition to explaining the architectural concept of the ancestors, it also provides learning for future generations An example with research. After 1 year and 3 months of restoration, the engineering team worked hard to maintain the original architectural style. The building has the following characteristics: 1. "One-stop" The most traditional one-stop building, the style is simple and plain without too much design. 2. "The object of disgust" There is a gourd-shaped object of disgust on the roof, which has the function of seeking good fortune and avoiding evil in folk beliefs. 3. "Washan wall" on the right side of the temple is made of black tiles, which can be used for waterproof purposes. First fix the tiles with mortar, then fix them with bamboo nails, and finally paste the mortar. To protect the bamboo nails from being corroded, the walls that wear tile shirts are usually red tiles, but the Fan’s family temple is made of black tiles. 4. "Door seal" is a component used to carry the plaque. It is called because it looks like a seal. A closer look shows that the Fan family temple is presented in the font of "Nine Die Seals" from the Song Dynasty. The two door seals are "Fu" respectively. "" "Lu". 5. "Three Gates and Six Doors" The front door leaf of Fan's family temple has 6 sides, slender and tall. There were 3 gates in ancient yamen, each with 2 door panels, so it was called 3 gates and 6 gates. With this construction method, the facade of the family temple was presented, showing the family's expectations for future generations. "New guests, old family" is the concept of revitalizing and reusing the Fan family temple. It is operated and managed by the Fan family. In the future, it will provide an introduction to Fan Zhongyan, an introduction to the handicrafts of the Fan family, exhibition of architectural features and restoration components, and photos of Hakka costumes. , The retro version of the battle top and other content, and plan related rice DIY experience activities from time to time. I believe that coming to the ancestral temple in the future will not only be a walk, but there will be more in-depth cultural and interesting activities waiting for you to experience.

It is a place that has been renovated only in recent years (a third-class monument). Although the building is not large, someone will explain it.

Our two tour buses came out to play and contacted each other in advance. We asked a guide from the Fan Family Temple to help us explain. The guide's family temples are like a few treasures. They have a history of more than 200 years. At present, there are nine temples in Hsinchu and Hsinpu. This is the earliest one. It was renovated more than ten years ago. It was only completed in the year. The guides introduced us in detail from brick to brick, and the history of their ancestors ... Today really benefited a lot. Suggestion: If you are interested in the history of Taiwan and the stories of various families in Taiwan, if you contact the guide (free of charge), you must reserve at least 40 minutes here.
