Best Modern izakaya restaurant in Taiwan

They do not have a menu; just tell them what your budget is add they will serve you fresh catches of the day. The only complaint is that it takes soooo long (more than 1.5 hours) for them to serve 4 dishes. However, the owner is quite friendly.

They didn't do much flavoring in the meals so we can actually taste the original flavor of the seafoods. Don't doubt just come ; D (winks)

The owners are super down to earth and we enjoyed sitting at the bar watching the chef work his magic. You can tell they take immense pride in the food and service they provide. Everything was well beyond our expectations. From the abalone to the absolute perfection that was the Cherry duck, this meal was amazing from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss it. And make sure to make a reservation. We were lucky to grab the last two seats and watched as others were turned away due to lack of seating.

It’s an open kitchen concept venue so customers are able to see everything from prep all the way to the presentation stage. As it is Sea to table dining/ a la cart, ingredients are fresh, local and top quality! Flavor-wise, it’s Taiwanese meets West, best of both worlds! Definitely worth going !

As most no-choice restaurants in Taiwan offer typically over-seasoned and perhaps mere visually appealing dishes, it's getting increasingly difficult to find places like 31 Dining Pub which is willing to serve dishes that highlight the original taste of the ingredients themselves. Situated in the small fishing village of Su'ao, the seafood it has to offer is incredibly fresh, and as the owner informs us, comes straight from the market the morning it is to be served. Definitely recommended!
