 If you like to walk around and enjoy the place without people, this is really a good little spot. You can take off your shoes and play with water in the laundry pit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 曉江亭位於竹東鎮東寧路二段之東寧橋畔，昔時為一座茶亭及候車站。東寧橋乃為上員崠甘承宗於一九二一年捐款所建立之石拱橋，地方人士並配合捐款於橋邊建造此茶亭，名為曉江亭。日治時期曉江亭為輕便車之停靠站，亦為竹東僅存之輕便車站，極具保存價值。
Xiaojiang Pavilion is located on the bank of Dongning Bridge on the second section of Dongning Road, Zhudong Town. It used to be a tea pavilion and waiting station. Dongning Bridge is a stone arch bridge built with donations made by Master Kong Gan Chengzong in 1921, and local people cooperated with donations to build this tea pavilion on the side of the bridge, named Xiaojiang Pavilion. During the Japanese Occupation, Xiaojiang Pavilion was a stop for light cars and the only light station left in Zhudong, which is of great preservation value.

It has been a historical site for nearly a hundred years. Outside the pavilion is an early portable station, and inside the pavilion next to the stream is the washing pit that is still in use.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 很有味道的小景點，沿著竹東中正公園，其實就可開始看到有住戶使用河水洗濯衣物。天氣好的時候慢慢散步過來，感受竹東街巷的古早氣氛，挺悠閒的。到了曉江亭時，正好有兩個大姐正在洗衣服，其中一個大姐瞧我晃來晃去，便指著河中某處要我看小魚——還真的有。
A very small scenic spot, along the Zhudong Zhongzheng Park, you can actually start to see residents using river water to wash their clothes. When the weather is nice, take a walk slowly and feel the ancient atmosphere of the streets of Zhudong, which is quite leisurely. When I arrived at Xiaojiang Pavilion, there happened to be two older sisters doing laundry. One of the older sisters saw me dangling, and pointed to some place in the river to ask me to see small fish-they really did.
