Since 2015, the Taoyuan Municipal Government has developed the Lunping Cultural Landscape Park in three phases, which was officially opened on November 27, 2019. In the third phase of the Cultural Landscape Park, the curved beam wooden structure commonly known as the Turtle Shell Theater, It will be completed and open for viewing on July 13, 2021. The wooden structure shed designed by Fang Yinping architects is a combination of wooden building materials and advanced glulam construction technology, using Douglas fir laminated timber, and custom-made in the Oregon factory in the United States. It was constructed and assembled by Fuzhang Industrial in Taiwan. The park retains its old natural appearance, surrounded by dense woods and on the wide central lawn, the roots of old banyan trees can be seen everywhere intertwined on the walls or roofs, with a very mottled feeling of time.
