The West Temple is one of the four ancient temples in the old city of Taoyuan. It was the earliest worship of Guanyin Buddha, King of Tibet and Lord of the City God. It has a history of nearly 200 years and is related to the development history of Taoyuan. The four ancient temples in Taoyuan are Gyeongbokgung Palace, Wenchang Temple, Taoyuan 15th Street Zhuangfu Palace and West Temple. The earliest documentary of the West Temple is Qing Jiaqing 25 years (1820), about 200 years ago. It has a long history. It worshipped Guanyin Buddha in the early days, blessed the ancestors to reclaim the peace, and later excavated many unowned skeletons because of Taoyuan City. The ancestors placed the bones in the Western Temple. Therefore, the Western Temple also began to sacrifice the King of Tibet, showing the spirit of Purdue and generosity. In the 39th year of the Republic of China, the believers welcomed the God of the City God from the Hsinchu City God Temple to represent the pursuit of justice. At this time, the West Temple was also known as the City God Temple. It was not until the 1960s that the old name of West Temple was restored.

The rare and only ancient temple in Taiwan has a history of 200 years from the Qing Dynasty to the present, and there is even an original monument inside! However, the Taoyuan government has to tear down such a precious, beautiful, and irreplaceable heritage and rebuild it directly... As a Taoyuan native, I feel ashamed to be a Taoyuan native because of this matter.
