★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 機場名稱及功能參考，值得回味....原址位於台灣桃園市八德區（八塊厝即八德之舊稱）。於日治時期建造，駐有日軍神風特攻隊。在太平洋戰爭末期做為對美軍船艦攻擊的基地，另二處相同功用的機場是距離7公里外的龍岡機場（跑道約700公尺；目前荒廢）及龍潭機場（跑道部分約1公里；現在為陸軍空騎旅基地）。戰後，在美軍協助下鋪有混凝土跑道（約2,573公尺）及柏油滑行道（約2,575公尺）各一條，並建一座現代型式的塔台。為紀念黑貓中隊駕駛U-2偵察機殉國的飛行員陳懷生，取名為懷生機場。
The name and function of the airport are worthy of recollection.... The original site is located in Bade District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan (Eight Block House is the old name of Bade). It was built during the Japanese Occupation and has a Japanese Kamikaze Special Force. At the end of the Pacific War, the other two airports with the same function were Longgang Airport (the runway was about 700 meters; currently abandoned) and the Longtan Airport (the runway was about 1 km; now it is) Army Air Cavalry Brigade Base). After the war, a concrete runway (approximately 2,573 meters) and an asphalt taxiway (approximately 2,575 meters) were paved with the assistance of the US military, and a modern-style tower was built. To commemorate the martyrdom of the pilot Chen Huaisheng of the Black Cat Squadron flying a U-2 reconnaissance plane, it was named Huaisheng Airport.
