★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful trails with lush green landscapes, huge centuries old giant trees and flowing streams. Lots of steps, stairs and some slippery slopes, so plan accordingly. Hiking sticks recommended for the elderly or those with weak knees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Taiwan national forest reservation to protect the Taiwan original cypress, kusunoki, cedar, pine trees. At least 22 trees have lived more than a thousand years, survived through those devastating earthquakes and the colonial wars and WWII.
The trails are well developed. The forests are in the government's good hands to keep the eco system thriving. I saw many varieties of birds, snakes, eagles, etc. The park ranger said there are even Taiwan bears in the high mountains.
So, be aware that you don't stay overnight in the park.
