★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is natural. The coast line is beautiful. The sea breeze is comfortable. You can surf here. There is a trail next to the sea, you can wander and feel the forest's breath.
You can even watch a concert if you are lucky.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's probably one of the best beaches you'll get this part of Taiwan, although I know that isn't saying much. The sand is really soft, the water is shallow for a good stretch of the ocean, and it's easy to find a spot all to yourselves since it is so big. The windmills make for beautiful photos. The water is pretty murky, so don't expect to see anything other than the occasional fish that jump out of the water. There is a surf shop that rents out surfboards and SUP paddle boards, but I haven't seen much waves here. People say that the winter has better waves, so I'll have to wait till then to say anything. If you're looking for a soft sand beach to get tan on or some water to play in, then this is a good spot. The bike path that goes along here is also beautiful and worth a ride if you're looking to get a little respite from the beach/sun.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome free access to the beach (something sorely lacking in Qiding up the coast). Adds great value to the town of Zhunan and Miaoli County. The government needs to do more to promote similar endeavors elsewhere (Qiding - big hint).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location for kitesurfing and other water sports! Gorgeous beach that goes on for miles, the rest area has parking, bathrooms, and outdoor showers. There are also bike and hiking trails.
Nearby there is a small b&b that offers food and cheap accommodations for those who’d like to hit the waves from the early morning:)
