A all time favorite place since I was a small boy. Great Japanese food selection and the 1600 cc of beer you can order with your dinner!

Diarrhea and vomit after eating here. Dirty and unsanitary. Staff also has terrible attitude. Do not recommend coming here....

Many good reviews but I think it is a localised Taiwan Japanese food. Big portion and price is considered moderate. Sashimi was fresh indeed

Unbelievable. Nestled in the heart of XiMenDing, this Japanese restaurant isn't the most obvious one, but the food is extraordinary. The pieces are so huge even i can't put the whole sushi into my mouth. Most importantly, it is reasonably priced. I'll definitely visit again if I happened to be in Taipei again

A place where one could comfortably eat sushi and 熱炒 at the same time. The restaurant has a retro feel and the service is no-nonsense. Eel over rice (300) was decent.

3/5 Overall 西美觀園食堂 Mei Guan Yuan 146 Japanese Restaurant is a local Japanese restaurant in the Ximen area, there's actually 2 restaurants right next to each other and both are very popular. 3/5 Sushi: For sushi in Taipei, the prices are a little high when you compare it to Kura Sushi or Sushiro. But the difference is that the sushi cuts are bigger and the presentation is much worse. 1/5 Deep Fried Pork Cutlet Curry: It was thick, sticky and yellow? This was not what I was expecting for Japanese curry. I tried a few bites and I couldn't eat any more since the flavor of the curry wasn't pleasant. The pork cutlet was also overcooked. 3/5 Chicken Wings: The seasoning was pretty good, but as you can tell, there wasn't much meat on the bones. The chicken wings are a specialty at Mei Guan Yuan 1946. 3/5 Value 3/5 Service 3/5 Quality Overall, 西美觀園食堂 Mei Guan Yuan 146 Japanese Restaurant is pretty consistent with the food you can expect to get in the Ximen area.
