★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very bad experience here. We are tourists who only speak some mandarin (can’t really read), and the waitress was so rude and dismissive to us! When my mom asked her to read some items in the menu, the waitress told my mother that she wouldn’t understand her even if she read the menu! We stayed on because the food was supposed to be good. But it wasn’t great at all. We’ve had much better at other restaurants here in Taiwan. Plus when we asked for water, that same waitress just told us “we don’t have water” even though we would have been happy to order other drink options on the menu. If you are not local, please don’t visit this place. They are rude and the service is so Horribly bad! I highly recommend you try somewhere else. This has been our Worst experience in Taiwan. And we have visited here 3 years in a row because we loved the friendly people. ?

Hakka dishes, recommend: 鳥不踏飯、白斬土雞、風味燜苦瓜 、勝興豆腐、紫蘇梅汁
In addition, before leaving, must buy Traditional Hakka snacks: 艾草&紫米桂圓粄

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Exceptionally friendly service. No English menu but there was a nice lady that spoke good English to us. This restaurant opened in 1969, and is run by the third generation. Order the fried rice (a specialty) and the braised pork. They also have snacks and pickles to buy.
