This place was highly recommended by a friend who ate there for over 30 years. The beef is chilled only, never frozen and the verdict is in the taste, soft and moist with the delightful beefy taste from being cooked in the simple broth.
The broth is very simple base, I saw lots of dried fish, very teochew kind of style.
The sauce is a peanut sauce which I understand is made by the shop and not bought from stores.
There is a slight wait from order to the serving of the hotpot as everything is cooked with charcoal, so be prepared to wait a bit and have a sauna when the hotpot is being served.
Other than beef, they have an array of the usual steamboat offerings, but my take is to just go for the beef and pork and ignore the rest.
The place is hidden in an alley, but it is not hard to find with Google Map instructions.
