The Modern Directory was formed between business partners, Jarret Levin and Theresa Metzler, as the result of solving the problems they had within their own jobs. Despite their two vastly different backgrounds, together, they found a white space within the industry where finding contractors or retailers was deemed difficult. 

Working as two small businesses

We often needed to expand our network as new projects arose. Whether we needed to find a unique fabric, a specialized contractor or a new retailer for a brand, our options were limited to word of mouth or what we were able to find on Google. That is when the idea for The Modern Direction was born. A platform that creates an entirely vertical database within the fashion industry designed to focus and highlight the details that matter while building trust and holding each other accountable. In doing so, we make each of our businesses bigger, better and more apt to take on the ever changing landscape of the fashion industry.
