教會定名為「台中基督徒榮中禮拜堂」（以下簡稱本堂）取意於在「榮」總附近，台「中」港路上。 1985年1月，一群弟兄姊妹在一次交通中，發現台中榮總附近廣大社區福音的需要，而開始禱告尋求在這地建立教會的異象。 1985年7月13日下午3時舉行「設堂感恩禮拜」。本堂由全體重生得救信徒及慕道友組成。一切行政、財務、人事等，完全獨立，然對於其他友堂仍保有屬靈上的交通。

Introduction:
The church was named "Taichung Christian Rongzhong Chapel" (hereinafter referred to as this church) for the purpose of being near the port of "Rong", Taichung "China" Port Road. In January 1985, a group of brothers and sisters discovered the need for the gospel of the large community near Rongrong Taichung in a communion, and began to pray for the vision of establishing a church here. On July 13, 1985, "Thanksgiving Service" was held at 3 pm. This church is made up of all believers and Mu Daoyou who were born at full weight. All administration, finance, personnel, etc. are completely independent, but still have spiritual communication with other friends.
