The Taichung Cultural Assets and Materials Management Center was inaugurated on June 15, 110. The site is located in the historical building of the Ye Tobacco Re-drying Plant Group of Taichung Branch, Dali District. It has become the second and only cultural asset center in central Taiwan. The Ministry of Culture subsidized 1.338 million, and Taichung City raised 892,000 from itself, for a total of 2.3 million. Existing collections include the wooden trusses of the Lianqin Fengyuan A-type Joint Warranty Factory, the pillar beads and ghost tiles of the Taiwanese Furu Kao shed, the lightning rods and wooden dowels left behind during the Japanese occupation of Houli Horse Farm, and the wood components of the 921 earthquake disaster. Exquisite carvings and colorful paintings are all components with historical and cultural value. After the establishment of the center, these components will be better preserved and used to extend cultural memory. The restoration of historic sites and historical buildings in Taichung City is based on the principle of "recovery". The components that cannot be repaired but can still be reused, stored or displayed will be evaluated according to "big wood, small wood, brick, tile, stone, glass, doors and windows, etc." Wait for eight categories to be preserved. The restoration site of cultural assets is based on the principle of "return to original position". For old materials that are damaged or cannot be restored to their original positions, but still have reusable value, the process of "big materials change into medium materials and small materials" is usually adopted for processing. In the future, through the operation of the material management center, the processed old materials can be properly stored, reducing the probability of becoming waste after dismantling. At the same time, through the mechanism of the matching platform, precious old materials have the opportunity to be mixed and regenerated into display products. Or it can be made into other objects to continue the historical memory and cultural relic value, and also implement the concept of cherishing resources and sustainable environment.
