Taiwan's third oldest existing hydropower plant has a small capacity, but it is the best example of small hydro renewable energy.

CE 1911 (Qing Xuantong 3rd year / Day Meiji 44 year) On August 1, the "Houli Power Station" on the left bank of Da'an River began to transmit electricity to Taichung City. CE 1909 began planning, design, and construction. CE 1911 Completed in July, it is the second power plant of Taiwan's Governor's Office subsidiary business (the first is the Zhuzaimen Power Plant in Meinung, Kaohsiung), and it is still in operation, ranking the third oldest power plant in Taiwan. It supplies Taichung County. , City, Changhua, Miaoli and other places. CE was merged into Dajiaxi Power Plant on August 1, 1996 and was renamed Houli Unit. CE February 20, 2003, completed the automatic remote control operation of the unit. After the two generators of Sun Moon Lake No. 1 Power Station (now Daguan No. 1) and Sun Moon Lake No. 2 Power Station (now Jugong) were completed, the power supply area was changed to "Hou Li"

Taiwan ranks the third oldest and also the first oldest hydropower plant in the central region. After more than a century of operation, it is still as usual!
